These online one to ones are offered on a 'Pay What You Can' basis. After you've booked your session, I will send you a Zoom link for your session, and details of how to make your payment. My normal fee for an initial one to one is £50. You are, of course, welcome to pay the full fee, but you are equally welcome to pay whatever you can afford, or absolutely nothing at all if you're not able to pay at the moment. No questions asked.

During your one to one we can discuss any element of your writing or discuss publishing/writing career questions. If you would like me to read any of your novel before the session you will have the chance to send me up to 2000 words to look at. Normally the opening of the novel and/or an outline/synopsis are the most useful things for me to read.

Alison May is a novelist and short story writer and a former Chair of the Romantic Novelists’ Association. She currently writes romantic comedies as Ally Sinclair and is published by Hera/Canelo. Alison has been shortlisted in both the Love Stories and Romantic Novel of the Year awards. Along with Janet Gover, Alison also writes reinterpretations of misunderstood classic novels, under the penname Juliet Bell.

Alison is also qualified teacher with a degree in Creative Writing and, as well as working one to one with developing novelists, has taught for NAWG, Worcestershire Litfest and the University of Worcester. She is currently an associate lecturer in creative writing with the Open University. Past students and mentoring clients have gone on to achieve agent representation, publication with traditional publishers – including Avon, Boldwood, Bookouture, Fourth Estate, Headline, Head of Zeus and HQ – and to self-publish successfully.
