Bookkeeping for Non-Profit Organizations (NPOs) can be as easy or complex as you (or your Board) need it to be. But it should always be up-to-date and accurate.
This class is intended for volunteers and/or paid staff who do the bookkeeping for relatively complex organizations (ie. sports organizations, churches, schools, animal rescues, etc), however anyone who's new to the non-profit world is invited to join in, too.
Join us online for this informative session and you'll learn how to:
- Choose the best software apps or solutions for your needs (note that we will discuss multiple options, but QuickBooks Online is our preferred accounting app)
- Set up a Chart of Accounts (ie. categories) to properly track your income and expenses within departments, events, general admin/overhead, etc
- Ensure outgoing funds are approved BEFORE the money leaves the bank account
- Track cash and gift-in-kind donations, and provide receipts to donors
- Track gift-card and petty cash spending
- Understand restricted and non-restricted funds
- Enter deferred casino revenue and approved expenses
- Automate membership sales and renewals
- Create budgets from scratch or historical financials
- Enter deferred casino revenue and approved expenses
- Run Reports, Prepare, and Read/Understand Financial Statements
- Best Practices for Non-Profit Bookkeepers

There will be time for questions, however if we can't answer your question during the session, we will follow up with you afterwards.
