Personal Budgeting & Finances

Duration
1 hour, 30 minutes
"The wildlife in the jungle may not hurt you, but the mosquitoes will!"

The same can be said for personal finances - most people know how much their BIG expenses cost each month, but it's the hundreds of LITTLE expenses that can blow through your cash and keep you from paying off debt or saving up for retirement.

Join us online for this results-based, hands-on workshop and you'll learn how to:

  1. Create a personal budget using an easy, online calculator
  2. Use today's best apps to automatically track your spending and send you alerts if you've gone over your budget
  3. Calculate your net worth
  4. Keep tabs on your credit score
  5. Pay off your debt in the right order

You'll be typing your actual expenses, etc into the online tools throughout the class, so please have the following documents and information readily available to use during the class:

  • all bank account and credit card statements for the past 3 months
  • recent mortgage statement (if applicable)
  • loan statements (ie. car, student, line of credit, etc)
  • recent investment statements (ie. RRSPs, TFSAs, mutual funds, etc)

After you register, we'll send you the zoom link, class handouts, and some easy homework to do in preparation for the class. Other than that, you'll need a good internet connection and 1.5 hours to focus on learning. A web-cam is not required but it'll make asking questions a bit easier for you.

ps. Your spouse/partner and children (10-17 years old) are welcome/encouraged to join us (no additional charge). Financial education is important for everyone!

*The session will be recorded but it will NOT be available to view afterwards. Please be sure you attend the class at your scheduled time.
