Dr. Oluwatosin Akintan is a psychologist, licensed therapist, group practice owner, and educator committed to using community as a tool for healing, growth, and empowerment. Through her clinical work and community-based initiatives, she helps people find new definitions for themselves through both therapy and collective care. She believes community is not supplemental to well-being — it is the intervention that moves people toward more purposeful, authentic lives.
She founded New Definitions Counseling to expand access to culturally responsive, affirming mental health care and New Definitions Institute, a community centered initiative focused on education, mentorship, training, and community-building for mental health professionals and individuals in the community. She works with high-performing adults navigating identity, relationships, burnout, and purpose.
Beyond therapy, Dr. Tosin offers clinical consultation, mentorship for aspiring and early-career clinicians, personal statement review for graduate applicants, and organizational training focused on culturally grounded mental health practices. Her approach blends psychological depth, honest reflection, and strategic insight creating spaces where people can think clearly, lead well, and show up more authentically.
