Office Hours with Dra. Yvette
A budget-friendly and high-impact way to get the support you need without committing to a full coaching or consulting package.
What It Is:
- A live 50-minute drop-in small group coaching and consulting session.
- Offered twice a month for first-gen and BIPOC grad students, postdocs, and early career professionals.
- A compassionate, structured space to check-in, ask questions, and build community.
- A place to get actionable strategies for productivity, wellbeing, and navigating grad school or your career.
“Dra. Yvette actively listened to my concerns about prepping for comprehensive exams in a way that allowed her to help me uncover the underlying issue I was having: things are only as complicated as I make them, and it’s ok to keep things simple. While this mindset is relatively new to me, I look forward to using it more often in the future as a Latina in academia!” - Maria Vielma
What It’s Not:
- Not a one-on-one coaching or consulting session (this is a group setting, but your questions will be addressed and you will have the option to ask anonymous questions too).
- Not a place for in-depth document reviews (we can discuss strategies for working on applications, CVs, etc., but we won’t review materials on the call as that is reserved for my 1:1 consulting sessions).
- Not a container for long-term support.
What You Can Bring to Office Hours
Come with questions about:
- Productivity and time management strategies
- Overcoming imposter phenomenon and perfectionism
- Burnout recovery and sustainable work habits
- Navigating academia as a first-gen, BIPOC, or neurodivergent scholar
- Setting boundaries and prioritizing your wellbeing
- Grad school applications and funding
- Hidden curriculum and career development
- Or any topic I've covered on my podcast
How It Works
- Each session is $49 each on a drop-in basis, please join when you need support.
- Sessions will not be recorded but Zoom meeting notes will be shared with participants.
- Spots are limited to just 8 participants per session to keep the space intimate, supportive, and interactive. This ensures that everyone gets a chance to ask questions, receive personalized guidance, and engage in meaningful discussion without feeling lost in a crowd. Secure your spot early!
Attendance Policy
- To ensure as many people as possible can access this resource, participants are limited to two Office Hours sessions per quarter (and up to six per year).
- I offer a 15-minute grace period at the start of each session. If you arrive late but within that window, you’re welcome to join. However, if you miss that window, the session will be considered a no show, meaning that the session is counted as used, even if you didn’t make it.
- If you're looking for more ongoing, tailored support, consider joining my Grad Empowerment Coaching Circle (a hybrid 1:1 and group coaching program), which provides more accountability and support.
