As a trauma informed certified coach, I help people interested in deepening their post traumatic growth, so they can grow and flourish. I also coach people who do not have trauma in their history. Coaching helps people live their best lives, and it's an honor to be invited to partner with people, so they can achieve their goals. I love that in coaching, you don't get diagnosed or given advice. I listen deeply and ask questions to help people find their own solutions and sources of strength.
A little about me: I have been interested in psychology all my life. As a child, I used to regale my parents with my perceptions about people's inner worlds. As an undergraduate, I studied psychology and biology with a concentration on how chronic stress impacts the human body. I then attended Antioch University's marriage and family therapy graduate program.
Halfway through that program, I had traumatic experiences that changed my path. Many years later, and still interested in supporting people through conversations, I decided the empowering and forward thinking approach of coaching was a better fit for me.
For 5 years, I co-facilitated and facilitated support groups for women who've experienced trauma. My particular areas of interest include:
PTSD, C-PTSD, post traumatic growth, ADHD and ADD, ASD, mental illness, addiction and recovery, dysfunctional FOO patterns, boundary work, chronic pain and physical illness, and I remain interested in how trauma and chronic stress impacts the body.
I draw from my understanding of different theories and modalities including: internal family systems (IFS), emotionally focused therapy (EFT), attachment style research, and the work and writings of Stan Tatkin, Dan Siegel, Peter Levine, Bessel van der Kolk, Stephen Porges, John & Julie Gottman, Harville Hendrix, Harriet Lerner, and others. I love learning and taking more trainings. I recently completed a training with Dan Seigel on how trauma, attachment, and temperament shape personality, and I am presently in an IFS program with the IFS institute. I look forward to taking more trainings in the future.
In my free time, I enjoy being outside, and being with family and friends. I love to garden, organize, design and decorate, read, write, cook, bake, and snow shoe.
I have lived in the United States all my life. I have lived in New York, Massachusetts, Montana, and I spent a couple of summers working in Florida. I eventually settled in Vermont, where I’ve lived for most of my life. I live with my husband, son, and our elderly rescue dog.
Sessions are typically through zoom, but can occasionally be on the phone if you'd prefer.
