Queer Books Weekly is a weekly queer book promotional newsletter and blog. This is for a free spot in the newsletter show under the appropriate genre heading for new releases. New releases can be any price. Books that are less expensive usually get more traction. Visit the blog and sign up to receive updates at https://queerbooksweekly.com or follow us on BlueSky at @queerbooksweekly.com

Details:
Your book will be featured on our last-day-of-of-the-month blog. You can submit as many books as you like as long as they came out in that month. You can submit brand new serials that started this month, you can submit on-going serials that started a new season/arc this month, comics that are starting new storylines, etc.
  • Books can be priced at any price point on the day of the promotion.
  • Books must be a new release for the month in which you are applying.
  • Books don't have to be books. They can be serials, novellas, short stories, interactive fiction, visual novels, poetry chapbooks, microfiction, etc. It does not have to be available on Amazon. (For serialized works, if the work started in that month, you can submit it. You can also submit if you started a new arc / season in that month.)
  • For fiction books, the main character must be queer in some way. For non-fiction, queerness must be a major theme or component of the book (ex: a biography of a major historical figure that was known to be trans, a history book about non-binary identities in the late antiquities, a science book about hormone replacement therapy best practices)
  • The works submitted must not condone or endorse racism, sexism, transphobia, homophobia, acephobia, ableism, xenophobia, etc. The works can explore and examine those prejudices, but must not advocate for them.
  • No fascists, no nazis.

Instructions:
  • Select the date you wish to have your book promoted. We post every new release round ups on the last day of the month.
  • Select the time slot. The time slot shown is the time I usually have these go live. It should allow up to 100 people to book into that time slot and will show you how many slots there are remaining. If for some AMAZING reason, all 100 slots are taken, reach out to me.
  • Fill out the form!
  • The form asks for 5 retailer links. You don't need to provide 5! If you just want to provide one universal book link, that's fine. If you want to link to every serial site your webnovel is on, that's fine! If you only want to link to Itch, Amazon, and Kobo, that's also fine! Also fine if you just want to link to your direct store. It's up to you!
  • Please provide a link to somewhere I can download your cover. I like to display the cover as part of the listing and it makes it much easier if you provide a link. This can be from a cloud storage drive, an image sharing site like snap.as or even the link to the image on your own website! Thanks!

Heat Levels / Spice Rating:
Please see our About page for the full details on how we rate spiciness. We allow all spice levels, we just ask that they be labeled appropriately so our readers can make the most informed choice for whatever reading mood they are in at the time.

AI policy:
The use of large language models is prohibited for books included in Queer Books Weekly. The use of other technologies that use the "AI" marketing label but do not create content for you is allowed, such as speech to text assistive technologies that have been around for decades but use AI as a marketing label, features in Photoshop or affinity that algorithmically make changes to the photo such as filters, cloning, or color swapping, etc, grammar and spelling checker features which have been around for years before LLMs became publicly available, etc. We recognize that there are many technologies, apps, and programs that many have been using since well before Chatgpt and Midjourney that aren't in anyway similar to those but decided they needed to add "AI" to their name. We don't get it either but 🤷

Who's running this, and how do I know you're not someone collecting info for nefarious purposes?
This site is run by Dax Murray, a non-binary author who has been publishing independently since 2017. You can find out more about Dax on their website. If you have previously booked a slot on QueerBooksWeekly and want your listing removed, simply email Dax at qbw@daxmurray.com and they will remove it. The site is built on Write.as, a privacy-first blogging platform that does not collect information on users except for email addresses if they choose to be notified by email.
