Hi, I’m Sean. I help international professionals and students stop sounding like a textbook and start sounding like an American local. As a Rutgers University graduate and TEFL-certified coach, I don't just teach grammar, I teach the cultural "operating system" of the United States.
How My Lessons Work: The 50/50 Strategy
I believe the best way to learn is to balance real-world "street" English with academic structure. Every 50-minute session is divided into two high-impact phases:
Phase 1: The Natural "Live-Correction" Warmup (First 20–25 Mins)
We start with a coffee-shop style conversation. This is contextual learning at its best.
Live Corrections: As we talk, I provide real-time feedback on your vocabulary choices, pronunciation, and grammar.
The Goal: To help you feel comfortable in a natural setting while catching those "fossilized" errors before they become habits.
Phase 2: Targeted Curriculum & Strategy (Final 25–30 Mins)
We transition into structured materials based on your specific goals or my proprietary articles.
Targeted Exercises: We might tackle my "Minimal Pairs" guide to adjust your accent or use my "Business English Prompts" to prepare you for a meeting.
Reading & Discussion: We use my custom articles (like The 2025 Liveability Index or Modern Slang) to expand your vocabulary through active reading and answering relevant questions.
Your Requests: Have a job interview or a future trip scenario to practice? We pivot the lesson to whatever you need most that day.
Why Book With Me?:
Choosing a coach is about more than just grammar; it’s about finding a partner who understands your journey. Here is why my students keep coming back:
A Calm, High-Confidence Environment: My students consistently mention that my calm approach and voice help lower their anxiety. I create a "zero-judgment" zone where you can make mistakes, take risks, and find your voice without feeling nervous.
The Perspective of a Language Learner: I am currently a student of Italian (B2) and Spanish. I know exactly how frustrating it is to feel "stuck" or unable to express your true personality in another language. I teach you the shortcuts I used to reach fluency.
Diverse Teaching Pedagogy: My experience isn't just theoretical. I have worked on the ground teaching in Italy, taught virtually for 3+ years, and worked within the New Jersey High School system. I combine academic rigor (Bachelor's Degree & TEFL) with real-world practicality.
A "New Jersey" Edge with Global Awareness: Having lived and worked abroad, I understand the "culture shock" of moving to another country, as I have lived in Italy and Argentina. I bridge the gap between your home culture and the fast-paced, direct communication style of the American East Coast.
