Functional Fitness after Breast Cancer Treatment - 6 Week Fitness Series

This 6-week class, led by Alyssa Washington, NASM-CPT, is designed to improve daily function, strength, and mobility in a safe, judgment-free space. The first class in our Functional Fitness series is appropriate for anyone who has ever undergone any type of breast cancer treatment, including those who have undergone prophylactic breast surgery for other reasons. Caregivers are also welcome.

Purchase of the series includes 3 classes per week for the duration of the group (18 sessions total).
Tuesdays and Thursdays 7:00-8:00 am OR Tuesdays and Fridays 3:00-4:00 pm
Saturdays 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Chronic Pain Support Group (Waitlist)

This is a peer-support group with Animal-Assisted Activities and other Therapeutic Recreation, led by Therapeutic Pain Specialist, Dr. Michele Green, PT, DPT and Therapeutic Recreation Specialist, Stephanie Castro, TRS/TXC, MSLS. This group is intended for anyone who lives with chronic pain (cancer-related or not).

1st and 3rd Wednesdays | 5:00 - 7:00 PM | Simple Sparrow Care Farm | $40/session.

Life After Cancer Treatment Support Group

This is a peer-support group that is a mix of group discussion, guided meditation, and recreational therapy. This group is appropriate for cancer survivors who have completed their first year of cancer treatment. Led by Stephanie Castro and Dr. Melissa Cofer, PT, DPT. Wednesday sessions at Simple Sparrow Care Farm may include Animal-Assisted Activities.

Led by Mary Piatt, LPC-Associate, this is a closed group that meets virtually for 12 weeks. This group is for anyone in their first year of cancer treatment.

The first half of the session, "Drum & Dance," is led by Therapeutic Recreation Specialist, Stephanie Castro. Stephanie will lead you through the cardio portion of the class, with basic drumming choreography. Dance and drum to the beat in a lighthearted, supportive environment. No dance or drumming experience required.

The second half of the session, "Stretch & Strengthen," is led by Certified Personal Trainer and ACE Cancer Exercise Specialist, Alyssa Washington. Alyssa will lead you through exercises designed to improve flexibility, build functional strength, and enhance overall mobility. Perfect for all fitness levels, this quick yet effective workout will leave you feeling balanced, refreshed, and empowered to take on your day with improved posture and reduced tension.

This class is a one-hour class, offered weekly, both virtually and in our clinic (space is limited so register in advance).

The first half of the session, "Drum & Dance," is led by Therapeutic Recreation Specialist, Stephanie Castro.
