Les Soirées Françaises — An Evening in French at Phillip's Table
Most people learn French in a classroom. You will learn it at the table. A three-evening immersion built around the language of French food — the words, the rituals, the rhythm of a real French meal. Eight seats, three evenings, 5:30–7:30 PM, hosted at home in Saint Augustine by Phillip Jacklin — California-born, with decades of life in France behind every plate. All language levels welcome, beginner through advanced.
Two hours, zero English — just French. The three evenings:
Thursday, July 2 — Quiches & Légumes d'Été (dessert: Tarte au citron)Friday, July 10 — Le Saumon en Papillote (dessert: Madeleines au citron, tièdes)Friday, July 17 — La Surprise du Chef Phillip (dessert d'honneur: Macarons TJLC)All desserts by Alexandre Perchat, Compagnon Pâtissier. Fish, meat & pescatarian options every evening.
Included: three full French dinners, the living language of the French table, and three signed bilingual handbooks to keep — À Table!, La Cuisine Française, and Easy Tourist French.
What to bring: just yourself, and the willingness to play full out — to speak, to enjoy, and to be completely at ease making mistakes. That's where the language comes alive.
