A double session is the same as a single session, except twice as long, more productive, and a little cheaper.There's a little bit of lost time in greetings at the start of any session, and again when assigning homework at the end of a session. With two single sessions those small time losses happen twice. In a double session, they only happen once - leaving more productive time for us in the session.I've also found that many times in a session we're getting to something important - just when the time runs out and the session has to end. In a double session, we are more productive because we can continue to pursue that important discussion, go deeper, and make more progress.As a pastor, I integrate Biblical truth with relational truth from the social sciences and research. I do sessions in-person in Fullerton or online using Zoom. Our first session will mostly be me listening and learning from you about your needs and concerns. At the end of the session, I will assign some specific "homework" for you to do before the next session. This may include assessments and questionnaires, practicing a new behavior, some light reading, or a specific relationship exercise.In the second session, and in those that follow, we'll start with a brief review of the prior session's homework, then talk together in a normal conversation about your growth, your struggles, etc. We may do some relationship exercises in the session, with me coaching you. At the end of our session, I will assign homework for you to do before the next meeting.As a pastor, I integrate Biblical truth with relational truth from the social sciences and research.
