How to migrate from Zoho Bookings to TidyCal

About 45 minutes for 3 to 5 event types. No importer: you export, then rebuild.

Quick answer

Export your appointments and customers from Zoho Bookings' Admin Center, rebuild each event type in TidyCal, swap your links, then set the Zoho event types to Inactive and move to Zoho's free plan. Downgrading is safer than closing your Zoho account, which deletes data in every Zoho app.

What comes across, and what doesn't

On Zoho BookingsMoving to TidyCalDetails
Event types Set up again Zoho only copies them between its own workspaces. Use the map below.
Appointments Export and keep CSV or XLSX, including future dates. They stay on Zoho until they happen.
Customers Export and keep CSV or XLSX. Over 10,000 customers, Zoho does the export through a support ticket.
Payments Set up again Connect Stripe or PayPal in TidyCal, then disable Zoho's payment integration.
Old booking links Stays behind Zoho has no redirect. Set event types to Inactive once your new links are out.
Zoho CRM and other Zoho apps Stays behind TidyCal does not connect to Zoho apps. Zapier is on paid plans.

Most people switch to take payments without a per-user bill. On Zoho, payments need Premium at $12 per user a month; on TidyCal they are on the Free plan. See the full Zoho Bookings comparison.

Before you start

  • Note any Zoho CRM workflows that start from a booking. They will not fire from TidyCal.
  • If you have more than 10,000 customers, open the Zoho support ticket for the export early.

Step 1: Export appointments and customers

In Zoho Bookings go to Admin Center > Data Administration > Export Data. Pick Appointments, choose CSV or XLSX, set a start and end date (future dates are fine) and export. Repeat with Customers.

Staff can only export their own appointments, so an admin should run this.

Step 2: Create a free TidyCal account and connect your calendar

Sign up, set Your link under Bookings page settings, then add your Google, Microsoft 365 or Apple account under Integrations > Calendars. Turn the Reading switch on for each calendar TidyCal should check for conflicts.

Step 3: Rebuild each event type

Go to Booking types > New booking type and use the map below.

Step 4: Switch payments

Connect Stripe or PayPal under Integrations > Payments in TidyCal. On Zoho, go to Admin Center > Integrations > Payments and disable the integration once the Zoho event types are inactive.

Step 5: Test, swap links, set Zoho to Inactive

Book yourself from a private window, then replace your Zoho booking link in your website, signature and bios.

Set each Zoho event type's status to Inactive so it cannot be booked. Do not just make it Private: Zoho still takes bookings on a private event type through its direct link.

Step 6: Move to Zoho's free plan

From Manage subscriptions, choose to move to the free edition now or at the end of the cycle. You can also email [email protected]. Closing your whole Zoho account deletes data in every Zoho app you use, so only do that if Bookings was the only one.

On TidyCal's Free and lifetime plans, Stripe bookings carry a 1% platform fee on top of Stripe's own. Pro has none, and PayPal bookings carry none.

Questions people ask

Can TidyCal import from Zoho Bookings?

No. TidyCal's only importer is for Calendly. Export your appointments and customers from Zoho and rebuild your event types with the map on this page.

What happens to my Zoho booking links?

Zoho has no redirect. Replace the links where you shared them, then set each Zoho event type to Inactive so nobody books the old one.

Should I delete my Zoho account?

Usually not. Move Zoho Bookings to its free plan instead. Closing a Zoho account deletes data in every Zoho app on it.
